200,000 Pistols Produced in Trabzon Exported to 60 Countries
Trabzon Silah Sanayi A.Ş. (TİSAŞ), a firearms manufacturer operating in Türkiye’s Eastern Black Sea region, exported 200,000 firearms to 60 countries in 2023.
Operating in the Arsin Organized Industrial Zone in Trabzon since 1993, TİSAŞ initially manufactured firearms for various units of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and the domestic market. In subsequent years, the company expanded into international markets and began exporting the majority of its production.
Increasing its production capacity year after year, the company exported firearms to 60 countries, primarily the United States, Canada, and European countries.
Murat Alemdaroğlu, a member of TİSAŞ’s Board of Directors, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the company had established a strong position in the industry in terms of both production capacity and export value and had become a preferred brand.
Alemdaroğlu noted that the company had experienced particularly rapid growth in exports in recent years, saying:
“Our export figures when we first began exporting in 1998 were quite small compared with where we are today. Over time, we have improved the quality and scope of our exports. As of 2023, our exports had reached approximately 200,000 units. We plan to increase this figure by around 30 percent in 2024.”
Alemdaroğlu explained that they closely follow developments in the global defense industry and said that, through their R&D activities, they strive to develop innovative products tailored to users’ needs.
