TİSAŞ Preparing to Introduce New Products to the Domestic Market

TİSAŞ, one of the largest manufacturers in Türkiye’s Eastern Black Sea region in the defense industry, manufactures small arms and defense industry products in accordance with NATO standards.

Operating in the Arsin Organized Industrial Zone in Trabzon since 1993, TİSAŞ initially manufactured firearms for various units of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and the domestic market. In subsequent years, the company expanded into international markets and began exporting the majority of its production.

Kadri Cemil Uyanık, TİSAŞ’s Domestic Marketing Manager, spoke to DefenseHere.com about the company’s operations, the products it manufactures, and its activities targeting the domestic market:

“Our company was established in 1993 and was one of the first companies to begin operating in the small arms sector as part of the Eastern Black Sea Development Project. Therefore, we have been engaged in mass production since 1993. We have introduced many products to our country, created added value, and will continue to do so. We are one of the most innovative companies in this field.

“We already have products based on the 1911 platform. These are products that we export extensively while also continuing to sell in the domestic market. We are now preparing to launch new versions of these products, also known as double-stack models. I estimate that, if everything goes according to plan, we will introduce them to the domestic market within approximately one to two months.

“Exports of these products began before the start of the year, and we continue to export them. We are now preparing to bring the same products to the domestic market and make them available to Turkish citizens as well.”
